Elizabeth Quartararo is a Program Officer. Elizabeth has held many mentoring roles for teens and young adults and is deeply interested in addressing poverty through education. She is currently pursuing her MBA part-time at New York University, with a focus on social impact.
Prior to joining the foundation, Elizabeth worked at New York Collaborates for Autism as a Program Analyst. She is also the co-founder of an organization that seeks to empower middle school students by teaching them to start and run their own school newspapers.
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Delaware with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and English.
Molly Umble is a Program Officer Molly developed a passion for nonprofits during her college career, when she interned at the Conway Regional Health Foundation, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hendrix College, Molly moved abroad to Sydney, where she began her career as an Event Coordinator at Children’s Tumor Foundation of Australia.
Prior to the Foundation, Molly worked at School Year Abroad in North Andover, MA as an Assistant Director of Admissions. Molly is thrilled to bring her passion for education to Connecticut and New York.
Katherine Gehrmann is the Associate Director. Her experience working with youth combined with a passion for educational equity led her to the Foundation in 2009.
Katherine serves as liaison for the Public School Initiative and bring years of experience to the grantmaking process. She received a Master’s in Public Administration with High Honors from Pace University, and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut.
Philanthropy is at the core of Katherine’s values and she is passionate about engaging others in civic opportunities.
Katherine and her husband live in Wilton.
Lucy Ball became the Founding Executive Director of Lone Pine Foundation in 2002. Lucy has been a leader in the nonprofit sector for 35 years. Prior to joining the Foundation, she was Executive Director of Starlight Children’s Foundation (now known as Encourage Kids Foundation) where she remains on the Board of Directors.
Lucy has served on numerous local boards of directors over the years. She is a founding board member of Impact Fairfield County, a women’s giving circle helping to leverage individual giving to achieve greater impact. She also currently sits on the advisory board of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s Fund for Women & Girls. In 2013, the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy awarded Lucy its Martha Newman Award recognizing her integrity and dedication to philanthropy. In 2018, Lucy received the Greenwich YWCA Brava Award, acknowledging her leadership in her field, for mentoring others and her commitment to both philanthropy and community involvement.
Lucy graduated from Georgetown University cum laude with a B.A. in Economics where she also serves on the College Board of Advisors. She lives in Darien with her husband David and two college-aged children.
